Çağrı Bey Leads First Deepwater Drilling Mission Abroad in Somalia
Our deepwater drilling vessel, Çağrı Bey, was welcomed at the Port of Mogadishu ahead of its upcoming mission in Somalia by Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye, along with the delegation and Somali officials.
As part of this strategic mission, which will mark a new chapter in Turkish energy history, Çağrı Bey will conduct the world’s second-deepest drilling operation at a depth of 7,500 meters in the Curad-1 well, located 372 kilometers off Mogadishu.
The operation is expected to last from 6 to 9 months, depending on favorable weather and climate conditions.
As TP-OTC, we send our best wishes for success to our committed colleagues on site and look forward to hearing positive news about discoveries from this operation, which we believe will bring significant benefits to our country.
