SOCIAL POLICY AND COMMUNICATION

A participatory and responsible approach

We manage social impacts together through transparent and inclusive practices that take into account the needs of society.

SOCIAL POLICY AND COMMUNICATION

Throughout the project life cycle, the identification of affected parties, the conduct of meaningful and continuous consultation processes, the establishment of effective grievance mechanisms and the measurement of performance through monitoring indicators constitute the key components of social impact management.

TP-OTC considers social impacts not only as risks to be managed, but also as an opportunity to generate shared value with communities. In this context:

  • Programmes such as livelihood restoration plans, training and equipment support are implemented for local people affected by fishing activities,

  • Social investment projects are carried out in areas such as women’s participation in production processes and skills development for young people,

  • Social impact performance indicators are regularly monitored and transparent reporting is undertaken.

TP-OTC’s understanding of social sustainability is shaped by the principles of participation, accountability and continuous improvement.

Accordingly, open communication channels are established with all stakeholders in the field; institutional responsibility is continuously enhanced through grievance mechanisms (GRM/WGRM), stakeholder engagement plans (SEP) and annual progress reports.

The management of social impacts is not only an operational obligation for TP-OTC; it is also a fundamental expression of its corporate ethics, its vision of sustainable development and its responsibility towards society.
