Our Environmental Impact

In the coastal transition part, it was observed that there are rare Pancratium maritimum L. (sea daffodil) and regional endemic Centaurea kilaea Boiss species that are distributed on the seashore fixed dunes.

A Rare Plants Conservation and Research Group were formed for these two species and seed collection was done. Some of the collected seeds were delivered to the Gene Bank and some have been used for re-planting. Species of Sea Daffodil and Centaurea kilaea Boiss were translocated to another beach outside the project site and were placed under protection.  This entire process was carried out under the leadership and supervision of academics competent in their fields. The estimated impact on biodiversity has prevented loss of dune habitat that would be directly affected by the operations.
