Abdülhamid Han Drillship in Sakarya Gas Field
Since 2022, our Abdülhamid Han Drillship, which has been operating in the Mediterranean, has now set sail for its new mission at the Sakarya Gas Field in the Black Sea.
Departing from Mersin/Taşucu Port, the drillship made its first stop at SOCAR Aliağa Container Terminal for derrick removal. Afterwards, it crossed the Aegean Sea, passed through the Çanakkale Strait, Kilitbahir, and Nara Cape, reaching the Istanbul Strait on Friday, August 2, 2024.
Our drillship was welcomed by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Alparslan Bayraktar, and was then sent off to Filyos.
After completing the derrick installation at Filyos TP Port, Abdülhamid Han moved to the Sakarya Gas Field for new missions, successfully completing the Amasra-4 drilling and Turkali-19 tophole operations.
Currently, Abdülhamid Han is continuing its drilling operations at the Turkali-23 well.
